In name of Sol'ra
Xzia, Days after the war between Nomads and the Kotoba
I, Nered, the priest of Sol'ra, looked at the sky.I was at a foreign land, obeying orders from the high priest. He was ordered me to come here, to Xzia, and gather information about the empire and where would be better to Iolmarek to strike. Well, I didn't expected that the Xziarite army and their allies would be able to defeat the holy incorporeal form of his god.
Now I was there, in the middle of the enemy country, with anything to help me. Except the voice of Sol'ra in my head, of course. That country was so strange. The people walk, without stopping, they never pray, they don´t have a superior entity to protect them. Poor unfaithful…
The messenger who gives me the message was there, standing, waiting for an answer. I don´t know. The Vizier Mahamoud was calling all the nomads back to Mineptra, but he was doing something like… the return of the old gods. I am still loyal to Sol'ra, Ozymandias and Iolmarek. I would never kneel in front of these sacrilegious.
I just gave a couple of crystals to the messenger and sent him back. I needed to pray, so I stopped at an inn, rent a room and stayed there for almost two days, praying for Sol'ra. And he opened my eyes. The imperial army will come back in little time, so I just needed to wait. They would see the fury of god. Of course, even with Sol´ra at my side I wouldn’t stand a chance against the whole Xziarite army. But, with luck, I could kill a couple of soldiers plus one of their leaders. So I started gathering information.
My dark skin drew some attention, but with my new Xziarite clothes I could fool them. And then I choose my targets. There was of their leaders, Gakyusha, he was kind of hurt, an arrow of one of that Sap-hearts, if I'm not wrong. But he would be extremely well guarded. So, I would need a team. I started searching the peripheries of Meragi. And I ended up by crossing my way with a young Zil. Phelaya, was her name. She was a shadow Guemelite that, for an unknown reason, was expelled from the guild. Sure, she didn't have the skill of a former member of the circus, but would be a great accept. She was so sad with the life, that was easy to convince her to join me.
And I found another one: Salim. Just like me, a Solarian. He was there, working for mercenary work, and I sure enlisted him. So, we three started planning, it took us several days without getting of from my room. We haven't anything to loose, it was one way to work for our god and for ourselves. The Mercenary, the rejected and me.
So, it came the big day. Gakyusha was coming back from the war, on a litter, following by something about thirty soldiers, between them one that was famous too: Furagu. Phelaya was ready, and started the show, in the Zil style. She launched herself in the front of the parade, using some kind of shadow spells, blinding the soldiers, with exception of Furagu, that run towards her.
With the distraction, Salim jumped from a rooftop, killing three of the guards with his daggers, and running to the next couple. And with that remain just me and the imperial lord Gakyusha. And I started walking and just stopped in his front, with my sword touching his chest.
- Lord Gakyusha, I'm here in name of Sol'ra, the only god, and is my duty and my curse avenge the evil you brought to my people. It's with this power I condemn you to death. And then Sol'ra will judge you.
- What? Are you crazy? Mineptra sign the peace!!!
- I’m not here from Mineptra, I've already told you that I'm here in name of God!!
And I stabbed him. Unfortunately, the strength of the priest isn't the damage with swords, even less the accuracy, and I hit him in the shoulder. Gakyusha screamed in agony. But there was one thing I wasn’t counting with. The Crow.
He was there, waiting for the right moment to act. A man, with black feathers. I didn't know his name, but his clan was obviously. He came from nothing, kicked me in the chest, and I was thrown away. At that time, Salim was already been killed by other two crows and Phelaya was caught as a prisoner. But I heard Sol'ra's voice in my mind, and I let him take control. Something happen then. When I opened my eyes, I was in the middle of the desert. There was an spectral figure in front of me.
- Nered, I saved you.
- Sol'ra! – I kneeled – My life is yours
- That's good, Nered. See that there's still more loyal people to me. We need to retrieve our forces. Our order must reborn, newer and stronger. And you will help me.
- I'm listening to you, my master. - It's all about killing the adorers of false Gods. Nered, we, the Solarians, will never kneel in front of sinners!!
